Fairhope, AL is delightful any time of the year with its mild temperatures, gorgeous sunsets over Mobile Bay, vibrant and friendly small town atmosphere, excellent shopping, arts, and outdoor recreation, and its proximity to the Gulf beaches. But April is one of our prettiest months with spring flowers everywhere. And with daily temperatures averaging 71 degrees for a high and 53 degrees for a low and average rainfall only 2 inches, the weather is on our side. April 1, The Art of Presentation: A Tablescapes Event
10:00 am – 3:00 pm. A fundraiser by Wisteria Garden Club. Twenty of the finest local shops, restaurants and hotels will be presenting ideas for decorating your tables, reflecting Southern traditions and trends of today. April 2, Fairhope History Lecture Series: “The Gulf of Mexico, A Maritime History”
6:00 – 7:00 pm. Sponsored by Fairhope Single Tax Corporation, this popular free lecture series highlights Fairhope history by local experts. This talk is being presented by John Sledge, architectural author and historian.

April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, (Thursdays), Fairhope Spring Outdoor Farmers Market
3:00 – 6:00 pm. Hosted by the City of Fairhope and featuring locally grown produce, honey, baked goods and other edibles plus plants, flowers and more. Children activities at 4:00 pm by the Fairhope Public Library. Fun to visit. You never know what you’ll find!

April 3, First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Fairhope
6:00 – 8:00 pm. Originally begun by the Eastern Shore Art Center, the First Friday Artwalk has evolved into a monthly street party involving most of the downtown businesses. Start early at a local restaurant and then make your way to the Eastern Shore Art Center for a look at their latest exhibits. Then as you wander around town, enjoy the people-watching, street musicians, stores open late, and lots of complimentary refreshments (donations are appreciated.)

April 3, Special Olympics of Baldwin County
8 am – 2 pm. Hosted by Baldwin County Public Schools, approximately 300 student athletes, each representing their own school, will gather at Volanta Park in Fairhope to participate in the games of the annual Baldwin County Special Olympics.

April 4, 11, 18, 25, Walking Tour of Downtown Fairhope
10:00 am (Saturdays). Open to the public and free every Saturday in April. These special guided tours will be led by Fairhope Museum of History Director, Donnie Barrett, and start at a different location and cover different areas of the city each Saturday. April 4, The Easter Bunny Visits Fairhope!

April 5, National Exhibition with Featured Image, “Been There” by Kate Aubrey
1:00 – 3:00 pm. Plan to attend the 79th Annual National Exhibition hosted by the Watercolor Society of Alabama & Eastern Shore Art Center. April 6, 13, 20, 27, Artist in Residence at The Book Cellar
5:00 – 7:00 pm (Mondays). Each month a different local musician is featured every Monday in a listening room environment at The Book Cellar, a local favorite bar and event hangout attached to the Page and Palette Bookstore. April 17, Tee Time for Autism: Golf Tournament
1:00 – 4:00 pm. Calling all golfers! Public fundraiser hosted by Rock Creek Golf Club, one of our finest golf courses, and American Autism & Rehabilitation Center. Includes lunch and dinner. Funds raised through the 501(c)(3) foundation will support American Autism and Rehabilitation Center so they may continue serving children and adults with special needs. More info on their website.

April 17, Live At Five Concert Series: The Tip Tops & Lisa Mills
5:00 – 7:30 pm. Don’t miss this outdoor concert on the lawn at Halstead Auditorium with the best in local music. April 18, Mobile Bay Earth Day 2020
10 :00 am- all day. Come celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day along the shores of Mobile Bay in Fairhope. Live music, interactive events, educational and fun activities for adults and children. A free low-key family-fun day along the beautiful Fairhope beach next to the Municipal Pier. Wear your walking shoes and continue down the sidewalk along the Bay for even more beach access and beautiful views of the water. More information here.

April 21, 20th Annual Taste of Rotary Food & Drink Gala
6:00 pm. Hosted by Point Clear Rotary Club, this annual event is well worth the ticket price and a great opportunity to meet and mingle with the locals. This year’s Taste and Tunes event will benefit the Rotary Youth Club, scholarships and other non-profits. 5:00 – 7:30 pm. As proof of our hope for excellent weather in April, there are two outdoor Live at Five concerts on the lawn scheduled for this month. Don’t miss this spotlight on our excellent local musical talent! April 25, Bald Eagle Bash- Weeks Bay Foundation
4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Celebrating their 11th year and hosted by Weeks Bay Foundation which works to preserve and protect water, woods and wildlife, this fundraiser features the best of the best in Fairhope. You’ll mingle with the locals as you enjoy signature beer from Fairhope Brewing Company, a great wine selection, inspired dishes featuring fresh Gulf shrimp from the best local restaurants, and great music by The Underhill Family Orchestra and The Marlow Boys. April 26, Jimmy Lee Hannaford at The American Legion Post #199
4:00 – 8:00 pm. This acclaimed singer-songwriter and recording artist will be performing Americana, folk and blues with his Twang Gang at the historic American Legion building right on Mobile Bay. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy a cool beverage purchased from the Tiki Bar, and don’t be surprised if you see lots of people dancing on the grass in front of the stage. Sunset is at 7:27 pm that night. April 27, Sarah Peacock Album Release at The Book Cellar
