About Jim and Dana Maloney
“In 2017, our middle son and his wife brought our sweet grandchild into this world, Beatrice Louise Maloney. Because we love being a part of our granddaughter’s life, we made the decision to move from North Carolina to the Eastern Shore of Alabama to be with family. Our love for adventure, travel, and meeting new friends plus our experience in Charlotte as AirBnb superhosts inspired us to visit Fairhope, Alabama and shop for resort property for family vacation rentals. We instantly fell in love with this beautiful historic property overlooking Mobile Bay and what we could do with it for beach rentals.
Jubilee Suites was built as a convalescent facility for the Brookley Army Air Field in 1940. Ask Jim for a tour while you’re here and see some of the architectural remnants of that time. After World War II it became Eastern Shore Apartments. In 1987, it was transformed into the ‘Away at the Bay’ bed and breakfast. Since our purchase in 2018, we have renamed our new home Jubilee Suites boutique hotel, updated the property and each and every suite, and have begun to meet new guests that quickly turn into long returning friends.
We welcome families, couples and business travelers for vacations, conferences, romantic getaways, small weddings, and even yoga retreats in the large studio overlooking Mobile Bay. It is a truly versatile boutique hotel, and we want to share it with you very soon!
Every day my husband and I make plans to sit and soak in the sunset along our 200 feet of shoreline. The sunsets really are like no other. Sometimes, we will look up to be amazed that a bald eagle is flying overhead. Our vacation rentals are peaceful and tranquil – perfect for a weekend, an intimate event or week-long getaway.”
About the Jubilee Suites Boutique Hotel
When guests arrive and step onto the property, they are quickly greeted by a rich history of beautiful old oak trees and a New Orleans styled open courtyard – a common area open to all guests and leading to private entrances to each unit.
While staying at our luxury suites, guests have full access to our beach, and are welcome to swim or paddle board. Guests at our Mobile Bay rentals can easily get around town by vehicle, bike, or walking. Fairhope is sidewalk friendly!
Fairhope Public Pier is within walking distance along the beach/shoreline (less than 1 mile in distance). Downtown dining and shopping are also within walking distance along the N. Section Street sidewalk (approximately 1 mile in distance). As you make your way in and meet some of the locals, you will quickly find that the town of Fairhope is warm and inviting, and always eager to meet new friends and share various vacation events.
