About the Owners- Jim and Dana Maloney
In 2017, our middle son and his wife brought our sweet grandchild into this world, Beatrice Louise Maloney. Because we love being a part of our granddaughter’s life, we made the decision to move from North Carolina to the Eastern Shore of Alabama to be with family. Our love for adventure, travel, and meeting new friends plus our experience in Charlotte as AirBnb superhosts inspired us to visit Fairhope, Alabama and shop for resort property for family vacation rentals. We instantly fell in love with this beautiful historic home overlooking Mobile Bay and dreamed about renovating it as a bed and breakfast on our 200′ of beachfront.
We made the plunge, began extensive renovations to every inch of the place and opened Jubilee Suites boutique hotel in April 2018. As resident hosts, we feel so fortunate to have found this beautiful place to call home and to be able to share it with our guests. Every evening we like to sit on the bluff that is our backyard and soak in the sunset. We’d love to have you join us for our Sunset Celebrations! The views are stunning and the sunsets really are like no other. Sometimes, we’ll look up to be amazed that a bald eagle is flying overhead. Our vacation rentals are peaceful and private – perfect for a weekend, an intimate event or a week-long getaway.

Whether you’re renting one or all seven suites, while staying at our hotel, you’ll enjoy full access to our bluff and beach on Mobile Bay where you can swim, fish, kayak and paddle board, or just sit and watch the world go by. Now that it is beautifully restored, we are welcoming families, couples, groups and business travelers for vacations, corporate retreats, family reunions, romantic getaways, small weddings, girls’ trips, local meetings and yoga and wellness retreats. We have added a brand new catering kitchen and great room looking out over the shimmering waters of Mobile Bay plus a large bright event room also overlooking Mobile Bay. Both spaces are available to rent for any kind of intimate event. Depending on your individual needs or the needs of your larger group, we can help you plan and make arrangements for food and offer suggestions for local activities sure to please. History of Jubilee Suites
Jubilee Suites was built as a convalescent facility for the Brookley Army Air Field in 1940. Ask Jim for a tour while you’re here and see some of the architectural remnants of that time. After World War II it became Eastern Shore Apartments. In 1987, it was transformed into the ‘Away at the Bay’ bed and breakfast. Since our purchase in 2018, we have renamed our new home Jubilee Suites boutique hotel, updated the property and each and every suite, and have begun to meet new guests who quickly turn into returning friends. It is a truly versatile bed and breakfast hotel, and we want to share it with you very soon!
