Although we are complying fully to the best of our abilities with all of the government orders to date, we’ve been saddened for the many engaged couples whose wedding dates have had to be called off or rescheduled because of the coronavirus pandemic and the 10-person limit on guests. We know it’s not just the couple and their families whose plans are affected. Much time, money and planning from many different wedding professionals contribute to a wedding ceremony and reception. The chain reaction of canceling a wedding can also negatively affect the wedding planner, the florist, the photographer, the event space, the rental services, the caterer, the guests and the entire wedding and travel industry.
In light of Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey’s Stay at Home order effective April 4, 2020, Alabama hotels are still open and considered essential infrastructure. In addition, there is a long list of essential activities still allowed under the Stay At Home order. Religious services, including weddings, are on the essential activities list as long as fewer than 10 people gather and each person stays 6 feet apart. What’s more, leaving home to go to work to provide one of the essential activities is also permissible as long as the 6 foot rule is observed.
Jubilee Suites Can Be Your Free Wedding Chapel
We’ve been fortunate to be warmly embraced by the community of Fairhope ever since we moved here just over 2 years ago. We’ve made lots of new friends, hosted lots of meetings, weddings, retreats and other events, and have delighted in sharing in the joy of our guests. Jim and I have been wondering how we can pay it forward during this special season in all our lives.
We’ve decided to offer our outdoor space for free during the months of April and May 2020 to all couples whose original plans have been ruined by the global pandemic. We’ve got a gorgeous beachfront property here in Fairhope, AL made to order for intimate weddings either on our 200-foot private beach or high on our backyard bluff overlooking Mobile Bay. We’ve spent the last two years restoring and upgrading Jubilee Suites into the peaceful luxury boutique hotel and event center we offer today. This spring we also completely transformed our backyard landscaping to create an even more beautiful and tranquil place where intimate weddings can take place, only to have to reschedule several because of the uncertain times in which we now find ourselves living.
Bring Your Dreams. Let’s Make Them Happen!
So it is with great hope and anticipation that we are offering the Jubilee Suites bluff and beach as an outdoor wedding chapel for any couple who wishes to use it. There will be no charge for you to gather your family, guests, wedding officiant, florist, photographer, and even your wedding planner as long as your total number of participants is fewer than 10 and you make sure to distance yourselves at least 6 feet apart. Would you like a beachfront wedding? How about getting married under an arbor on our bluff at sunset? Do you want a casual outdoor reception? Perhaps just cake and champagne? Dream it and you can make it happen here at Jubilee Suites.
We invite you to feel free to bring in tables, chairs, a wedding cake, a wedding arbor, a sound system or any other equipment for your intimate wedding ceremony. Equipment rental, setup and cleanup are your responsibility. Service professionals such as florists, wedding planners, photographers, and decorators can be scheduled in a staggered fashion so there are never as many as 10 here at the same time. And when everything is ready, your wedding with fewer than 10 people present can take place right next to the ever-sparkling Mobile Bay.
Get Married Now. Have a Reception Later.
If you’re a displaced engaged couple, and even if you’ve rescheduled your reception for later in the summer or fall, consider the idea of getting married at Jubilee Suites now and celebrating in a bigger way at a later date. If you’d like to take advantage of our free offer to hold your intimate wedding ceremony here during the months of April and May 2020, please contact us. We’d love to share our stunning outdoor setting with you and help you create a day to remember for as long as you both shall live.
Suite Reservations Not Required
By the way, if you need overnight accommodations before or after your wedding, the Alabama Stay at Home order does not prohibit staying in a hotel. We are not requiring you to book any of our suites to hold your wedding here, but if you or any of your family or guests would like to stay, please take a look at our huge 1 and 2 bedroom suites and book directly on our Jubilee Suites website.
2020 will be a year to remember by all of us. If you’re a couple starting out in marriage this year, why wait? We invite you to create your own memories in an intimate wedding ceremony at Jubilee Suites in April or May 2020.
